XPeng M03, the $14,000 Electric Car with a 500 km Range
This vehicle is garnering significant interest not only for its affordable price but also for its advanced technology and design. XPeng introduced the M03 as the first vehicle in its Mona Series. The Mona Series stands for “Made Of New AI” and focuses on smart driving technologies. Developed in collaboration with XPeng and Chinese mobility giant Didi, this series aims to offer drivers an innovative and safe driving experience.
The XPeng M03 features a design that stands out with T-shaped headlights and taillights, reminiscent of high-end vehicles like Polestar and Volvo. The vehicle’s silhouette is notable for its flush door handles and prominent front splitter. Additionally, the ducktail spoiler at the rear and unique details on the C-pillar give the M03 a distinctive style. The car will be available in Beige, Blue, and a two-tone Beige-Blue color scheme.
Some sensors and cameras seen on the exterior design of the M03 indicate that the vehicle will have advanced safety features. Equipped with BYD’s Blade LFP battery, the car boasts a range of approximately 500 km in the CLTC cycle. Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers continue to challenge the global market with affordable and high-quality vehicles.
However, there are significant import barriers in many countries. High customs tariffs on electric vehicles imported from China make it nearly impossible for these cars to enter the European market.
